GRADING
Students are graded using Standards-based assessment on a 4.0 scale. Each unit has a specific mastery outcome that is expected. A score 3.0 means the student has mastered the skill. A score 2.0 means they have some basics right, but have major errors or omissions. A score 1.0 means that there was little that was correct. A score 4.0 means they can go above and beyond what was taught.
Every assessment (test, quiz, observation, etc) is based on the rubric/scale for the skill that is being assessed. Scores are averaged, when necessary, to fit with the current 100-point scale:
3.75-4.0 A+
3.25-3.74 A
3.0-3.24 A-
2.85-2.99 B+
2.70-2.84 B
2.5-2.69 B-
2.3-2.49 C+
2.15-2.29 C
2.0-2.14 C-
1.7-1.99 D+
1.35-1.69 D
1.0-1.34 D-
0.0-0.99 F
