o I was born in Berwyn, IL and grew up in Riverside. I was very fortunate to go through the public school system in Riverside and graduated from Riverside Brookfield High School.
o I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois with a degree in Anthropology. I then attained my graduate degree in Curriculum and Instruction and Special Education from the University of Illinois. I am beginning the program to obtain my Reading Specialist endorsement in the fall of 2010.
o I started my teaching career in Chicago where I worked as a cross category special education teacher for two years. I was then hired to be a private teacher for a family in Lake Forest.
o In 1997, I began my career at Pleasantdale. For my first year, I was a special education teacher hired by LADSE to work with a student at Pleasantdale. I was then hired by Pleasantdale to be a 5th grade teacher. I spent 11 marvelous years as a 5th grade teacher and had the pleasure of teaching amazing children. I have spent the last two years as a 7th/8th grade resource teacher.
o I am the 8th grade cheerleading coach and the yearbook sponsor.
o I was nominated for a Golden Apple teaching award in 2005. I also was chosen to be a member of a prestigious NASA teacher program in 2000.
