This is my third year teaching at Pleasantdale Middle School. Before this, I spent three years in District 101 as a teacher’s aide and my first year teaching in Chicago Public Schools. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Iowa in History and Latin American Studies. I then obtained my Master’s Degree from Northeastern Illinois University in Special Education. Outside of Pleasantdale, I enjoy working with individuals with disabilities in the areas of recreation and vocational training. I have worked for the Maine-Niles Association of Special Recreation coaching and officiating Special Olympics events. I have also worked for the LaGrange Area Department of Special Education as a summer job coach. I also enjoy coaching at the middle school level and have coached 7th grade girl’s softball and 6th-8th grade boys softball. At Pleasantdale I have coached 7th grade boys basketball, 7th grade girls basketball and 7th/8th grade co-ed soccer.
