The fourth grade band students are asked to fill out a practice sheet each day after practicing the required time. These practice sheets will help students and parents commit to a schedule in order to excel on their chosen instrument. The monthly requirements, rating system and special monthly news can be at the bottom of the practice sheet.

The practice sheet is a simple calendar that students write how many minutes each day they have practiced. At the end of the week, the child’s parent signs off on the week which indicates that the child did in fact practice and filled out the sheet correctly. For the first few months in using these sheets Mr. Woltman will write in a rating for the week. After December, it is then the students responsibility to stick with the practice sheets and have their parents rate the students work. By this time, Mr. Woltman will be working with students one on one at recess while students are attempting to pass off songs required for performance.
