Hi!  My name is Stephany Bassett, and I am excited for the upcoming school year!  I graduated from Eastern Illinois University with my Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Birth to 21 years.  I went back to school a few years ago and received my Masters in Early Childhood Special Education, along with my Type 04 (regular education, Birth to 8 years) from Northeastern Illinois University.  I have been teaching preschool for 9 years, however this is my second year being a part of the Pleasantdale Bright Beginnings Team.  Again, I am looking forward to an outstanding year!

Hi!  My name is Maribeth Kavanaugh.  This is my 8th year of teaching preschool at Pleasantdale.  I graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development/Family Relations and later went back to school to receive my teaching certificate in Early Childhood Education with an approval in Early Childhood Special Education and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Olivet Nazarene University.

Bright Beginnings, an inclusive preschool program for children ages 3-5 teaches skills that serve as a foundation for future life success. Our purpose is to assure that young children, who are at various stages of developmental growth, demonstrate a passion for learning as they progress academically and socially. We believe learning is best facilitated in this age group through hands-on, interactive experiences that engage and challenge early learners.
