¡Hola! My name is Cheryl Thompson. I have been teaching Spanish at Pleasantdale since 2007. Prior to teaching here, I taught in LaGrange School District #102 as well as the Chicago Public School District. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Spanish at Bradley University and my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Concordia University Chicago.

Our District's Spanish Philosophy Statement
Spanish is the study of communication and cultures through listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students will attain the listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills to actively participate in culturally diverse communities. We teach Spanish through:
- early, continuous, child-centered activities.
- interactive, communicative scenarios.
- authentic assessments pertaining to real-ife situations.
- a spiraling scope and sequence of the language skills and concepts.
