Hi Pleasantdale Families!  Check out my new favorite math web sites:

www.factmonster.com  This is a free site with great on-line flashcards.

www.gregtangmath.com.  Please let me know what you think about this web site.  If you really like it, I will get you an account.

www.education.com  This is a free site loaded with all subject area information  I was especially impressed by the math portion.  It is crucial that all kids know their math facts.  Brushing up on math facts in the summer is very beneficial.

www.mrnussbaum.com  This is a site we use often at school.  Go to the math area, click on "Math Games" and find "Genius Boxing."  This is a favorite of many students.

Thanks to our awesome PTA for providing students with a tremendous musical experience. Lyons Township High School students and Pleasantdale graduates, Anabel R. and Natalia O. played numerous beautiful songs and taught the students about their instruments and their passion for music.

Their passion for music started at Pleasantdale Elementary School.  Anabel’s cello passion started in 4th grade band with Mr. Woltman.  Natalia was first introduced to the harp at a PTA sponsored assembly in school.  About 10 years ago, a well-known local harpist gave a presentation to the elementary classes.  Natalia, a second grader at that time, went home that day and told her mother that she wanted to take harp lessons.  Now a senior in high school, Natalia is a professional harpist.

Congratulations to all 2012 summer reading and math students!  This was the awesome water bottle they received this year.  There will be another great prize for all those students completing the 2013 summer reading and math programs.  Stay tuned for details and a picture.
