Our Class Mission

We, students of Mrs. DuVall's 4th grade class, are here to, learn, do our best and become successful. We will do our best to accomplish this mission by: following the "Eagle Way", listening to others, and learning new things. By working as a classroom team we will, rock the 4th grade!

Who is this Mrs. DuVall?

Hi, my name is Amy DuVall. I have been teaching for fourteen years and a teacher at Pleasantdale Elementary School since 2002.  I graduated from Northern Illinois University, and then continued my education and received a Masters of Arts Degree from St. Xavier University in the area of Teaching and Leadership.  I have had the opportunity to work with both the enrichment program as well as my current role as a fourth grade teacher for the past 4 years. My passion for teaching is seen daily with the activities that I bring to the class as well as the way the material is presented. I look forward to getting to know all of my students and helping to foster their passions.

 Science -

We are moving right along in Science/Health. We are exploring the study of durgs and how they affect our bodies. The students already learned about what smoking does to their lungs, and we will be moving into prescription and nonprescription drugs. This would be a great topic to explore at home as well.

Math -

After a long two quarters, I feel that it is necessary to make sure that my students are very familiar with topics that we have covered throughout the year in Math. In saying this, we will be having an "independent" work time during school in which each student will become responsible for re-evaluating what they may need to review from what was taught this year. A letter will be going home today, that will explain how this next week and a half will work. Make sure that you ask your student to show it to you today.  www.mathisfun.com
