Pleasantdale Ranked in Top 5 Percent of School Districts

Pleasantdale School District was awarded the Bright A+ Award for being ranked among the top five percent of 871 Illinois school districts.  The award was given by the SchoolSearch organization that ranks school districts nationally according to academic performance.  The SchoolSearch Bright A+ Award list is particularly useful to families looking for a school district with a rigorous academic environment.  To be eligible for the award, over 93.3 percent of students needed to score in the “meets” or “exceeds” category of the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT).  All students across the state are required to take the ISAT test in grades 3 to 8.  Pleasantdale ISAT scores have improved every year since the inception of strategic planning in 2003.  The strategic plan has involved over 100 parents and staff members to collectively implement school improvement efforts over the past five years.  Standardized test scores in 2007-08 were the highest in the history of the District.
